COVENTRY BACKED TO CONTINUE WINNING RUN

Ex-Southampton defender David Prutton has backed Coventry City to continue their winning run in the English Championship. Coventry City have won their last two games in the league and they would make it three wins on the trot when they travel to the Britannia Stadium to take on Stoke City as per the English Championship predictions from Prutton.

On the Sky Sports platform, Prutton predicted a 2-1 away win for Coventry City at the expense of Stoke City. The outcome will take the winning run for Coventry City to three games in a row. The last two games have ended with a positive outcome for Coventry City and those six points have been able to lift the club further away from the relegation zone. They are no longer in danger of losing their English Championship status.

Norwegian defender Leo SkiriOstigard scored the only goal of the game to give Coventry City a priceless 1-0 away win over former relegation rivals Rotherham United in their penultimate league game. They were able to secure the double over their opponents having won the first league meeting between the two teams earlier in the season.

The important win over third-from-bottom Rotherham United preceded the victory over Barnsley. Coventry City beat Barnsley 2-0 at home in their last game in the English Championship with Dominic Hyam and Matt Godden getting the goals for the hosts either side of the half-time interval.

Scottish defender Hyam scored the opening goal of the game on nine minutes before substitute Godden wrapped up the victory in added time. Godden had replaced Frenchman MaximeBiamou on 74 minutes. The win over Barnsley moved Coventry City nine points clear of the relegation ahead of the final four games this season.
